Today, I would like to tell you about a memorable experience I had while taking an English course a few months ago.
A few months ago, I joined an English language school in my city because it was the only option available to me for learning the language. I had always believed that learning English would be a long and tedious process, but this course proved me wrong.
The course was taught by Mr. Ham, who had an exceptional command of the English language. His unique style made learning both fun and engaging, which really helped me stay motivated. He often used audiovisual aids, such as videos, to teach us different accents and also to expose us to British culture, which was extremely helpful.>> Form đăng kí giải đề thi thật IELTS 4 kĩ năng kèm bài giải bộ đề 100 đề PART 2 IELTS SPEAKING quý đang thi (update hàng tuần) từ IELTS TUTOR

IV. Part 3
1. Do you agree that learning history may help people understand the present?
Absolutely, I believe studying history can provide significant insight into current issues. By examining the events and decisions of the past, individuals can understand how they shape the present-day situation. For instance, understanding the political conflicts of the 20th century can give context to the international relations we witness today. Moreover, history often repeats itself, so being knowledgeable about past patterns can help us avoid repetition of past mistakes. A prime example would be how past economic crises teach us to anticipate potential financial downturns. In addition, historical awareness can foster greater empathy among people by revealing the struggles and triumphs of different societies. Thus, history not only informs but also enables us to make better-informed decisions in modern society.>> IELTS TUTOR có hướng dẫn kĩ SỬA BÀI IELTS WRITING TASK 2 ĐỀ THI THẬT NGÀY 22/8/2020 của HS IELTS TUTOR đạt 6.5 Writing
- Insight (noun): sự hiểu biết sâu sắc.
- Repetition (noun): sự lặp lại, tái diễn.
- Empathy (noun): sự đồng cảm.
2. Why do you think some people have better memory than others?
The main reason for differences in memory is often attributed to genetics. Some people are simply born with a more acute memory, which enables them to retain information more effectively. Additionally, lifestyle factors such as sleep patterns and stress levels also play a role in memory retention. For example, individuals who get enough sleep are generally able to process and store memories more efficiently than those who suffer from sleep deprivation. Furthermore, people who engage in activities like reading or brain exercises tend to sharpen their memory over time. On the other hand, high levels of stress can have a negative impact on memory retention. In fact, long-term stress can even lead to impairment in cognitive functions like recall. So, while genetics plays a major role, habits and lifestyle factors are also crucial.
- Acute (adjective): sắc bén, nhạy bén.
- Sharpen (verb): mài dũa, cải thiện.
- Impairment (noun): sự suy giảm, tổn hại.
3. In what situations is it important to remember information very well?
It is crucial to have a good memory in high-pressure situations where decisions must be made quickly. For instance, doctors and surgeons must remember detailed medical information in order to make accurate diagnoses and perform procedures. Similarly, students preparing for exams need to recall vast amounts of information, which is often tested in a short period of time. In business, executives rely on memory when recalling key details about projects, clients, or financial data. Additionally, remembering personal information such as important dates or people’s names can strengthen social relationships and improve professional networking. People often find that being able to recall information under pressure can significantly boost their confidence. In these contexts, memory not only facilitates tasks but can also prevent costly mistakes.
- Boost (verb): thúc đẩy, làm tăng.
- Confidence (noun): sự tự tin.
4. Do you think technology helps people remember past events?
Yes, technology undoubtedly plays a role in aiding people to remember past events, especially through tools like digital calendars, notes, and photos. These tools allow individuals to store important dates and reminders, providing an accessible archive of events for easy reference. For instance, social media platforms offer a way to revisit memories through shared photos and posts, which can spark nostalgia and remind us of special occasions. Furthermore, online resources such as articles, blogs, and videos act as a repository of knowledge, allowing people to access information from the past. While these technologies are incredibly useful, it’s important not to become over-reliant on them, as doing so might impede one’s natural ability to remember. For example, relying on digital reminders can diminish one’s recall abilities over time. Technology can certainly help us remember, but it should be used in moderation.
- Archive (noun): kho lưu trữ.
- Revisit (verb): quay lại, xem lại.
- Repository (noun): kho tàng, nơi chứa đựng.
- Over-reliant (adjective): quá phụ thuộc.
