      • Example:

Today, I would like to tell you about my younger brother, who is someone I have a strong connection with, both personally and professionally.

Actually, it has been my long-time dream (a dream that has existed for many years) to set up an educational institute with him. We believe that together, we can make it a great success (achieving something outstanding). This idea excites me because of how well our skill sets align. For instance, my brother is extremely good (outstanding) at management, a skill he has had since childhood. Currently, he is pursuing an MBA, which further proves his dedication and passion for the field. Our skill sets are completely opposite and complementary (we have skills that balance each other out perfectly). While I focus on content creation and development, his strength lies in management and strategy.

What impresses me the most about him is his ability to be considerate (thoughtful and kind) and thoughtful (careful about the feelings and needs of others). He has always been there for me, helping me make decisions during challenging times. In our relationship, we can always be honest with one another (to tell the truth without hiding anything), which makes me trust him significantly more than any partner I have had in the past. This level of honesty (truthfulness) is something rare and valuable in professional relationships.>> Form đăng kí giải đề thi thật IELTS 4 kĩ năng kèm bài giải bộ đề 100 đề PART 2 IELTS SPEAKING quý đang thi (update hàng tuần) từ IELTS TUTOR

I would also like to work with him because he has a strong personality (he is confident and assertive), and he never lets others tell him what to do. This trait is particularly helpful when it comes to setting up a business, as he has a clear vision and is unwavering (not easily changed) when it comes to following his beliefs. Although we’ve never worked together in business before, he always reminds me that things are not as easy as they appear, and that I should work hard in order to get results (to put in effort and dedication to achieve success). He tends to push the limits (to challenge the usual boundaries or rules) of what is acceptable, especially when rules are not clearly defined.

All in all, I believe that working with my brother would be a wonderful opportunity, and we could make it work (to successfully complete or achieve something) because of our complementary skills and strong mutual trust.

IV. Part 3

What kinds of family businesses are common in your country?

In my country, retail stores and restaurants are common family businesses. These businesses typically allow family members to work closely together, managing day-to-day operations and customer relations. For example, many small local grocery shops and food stalls are run by families who have passed down the business from generation to generation. This continuity helps ensure stability in the business, as the family is deeply invested in its success. Moreover, family-run restaurants often create a warm atmosphere, which attracts customers looking for a personalized dining experience. By leveraging the family’s close-knit relationships, these businesses can often offer better service and a more authentic product. This is a big selling point for customers who appreciate a sense of familiarity. Overall, family businesses in my country often thrive due to strong local relationships and a genuine commitment to quality.

  • Retail stores: cửa hàng bán lẻ
  • Continuity: sự liên tục
  • Personalized: cá nhân hóa
  • Close-knit: gắn bó, thân thiết

Is it good to work with family members?

There are both advantages and disadvantages to working with family members. On the one hand, the sense of trust and understanding in family relationships can make collaboration smoother. For example, working with family members often leads to effective communication, as they know each other's strengths and weaknesses. However, it can also lead to conflicts if personal issues spill over into the workplace. Family dynamics sometimes create tension, making it hard to separate personal matters from professional responsibilities. Additionally, family-run businesses can have difficulty being objective when making important decisions, as emotions may cloud their judgment. Despite these potential challenges, some people still prefer working with family because of the strong bond and shared goals. Overall, it’s a matter of balancing work with personal relationships.

  • Advantages: lợi ích
  • Trust: sự tin tưởng
  • Effective communication: giao tiếp hiệu quả
  • Conflicts: xung đột
  • Personal matters: vấn đề cá nhân
  • Objective: khách quan
  • Overall: tổng thể

Why do people want to do family business?

People choose to run family businesses for various reasons, including financial stability and a strong legacy. By starting or inheriting a family business, individuals can benefit from established brand recognition, which can give them an edge in the market. For instance, a family-owned company with years of experience often has loyal customers who trust the brand’s reputation. Additionally, family businesses can be less risky since they typically require lower capital investments to begin. This makes them more attractive to people who are looking for a safer career option. Furthermore, owning a family business allows people to be their own bosses and work according to their own values. The sense of pride in carrying on a family tradition is another powerful motivation for some individuals. All in all, family businesses provide a sense of security and long-term continuity that many find appealing.

  • Financial stability: sự ổn định tài chính
  • Legacy: di sản
  • Brand recognition: nhận diện thương hiệu
  • Typically require lower capital investments: thường yêu cầu vốn đầu tư thấp hơn
  • Attractive: hấp dẫn
  • Safer: an toàn hơn
  • Sense of pride: cảm giác tự hào
  • Security: sự an toàn

What are the drawbacks of working in a family-owned company?

One of the major drawbacks of working in a family-owned company is the potential for lack of professional boundaries. Family members often struggle to keep their personal and work lives separate, which can lead to misunderstandings or tension at work. For example, disagreements about business decisions may turn into family arguments, which affect the overall productivity of the company. Furthermore, family-run companies often have limited growth potential because they may not have the resources to expand or invest in new technologies. As a result, employees may feel stuck in their roles with little chance for career advancement. Additionally, the emotional ties in family businesses can make it difficult to make tough decisions, such as firing underperforming employees. These factors can negatively impact both the company’s success and the family’s relationships.

Do people in your country like to work in big companies or small companies? What are the benefits of working for a big company?

In my country, the preference between big and small companies often depends on the individual’s career goals. Some people prefer working for large multinational corporations (MNCs) because of the wide range of opportunities for career advancement. Big companies often offer structured training programs, comprehensive benefits, and a clear career path. For instance, working for an MNC can provide employees with international exposure, which enhances their skills and experience. On the other hand, working for a smaller company might feel more like being part of a close-knit team, where employees have more responsibilities and closer relationships with their colleagues. However, the benefits of working for a big company cannot be overlooked, such as better job security and access to larger resources. Moreover, big companies are typically able to offer higher salaries, which is an appealing factor for many. Ultimately, both options have pros and cons, but big companies seem to have the edge in terms of long-term career growth.

  • Multinational corporations (MNCs): các tập đoàn đa quốc gia
  • Wide range of opportunities: nhiều cơ hội
  • Comprehensive benefits: lợi ích toàn diện
  • International exposure: tiếp xúc quốc tế
  • Close-knit team: đội ngũ gắn bó
  • Pros and cons: lợi ích và bất lợi
