IELTS TUTOR gợi ý bài tham khảo:
Today, I would like to tell you about a gift I would love to buy for my best friend. Actually, her birthday is next month, and I have planned to get her a smartphone. She still uses an old mobile phone, which is not a smartphone, so I think this would be a perfect upgrade for her.
The reason I want to buy this gift for her is because a smartphone would make her life easier and more enjoyable. Thanks to this device, she can stay active on social networking applications like Facebook and Instagram, keeping in touch with friends and family in an interesting way. Nowadays, many people use their phones to stay connected, and this would really help her feel less isolated. For example, she could easily share photos and keep up with the latest updates from people she cares about.
Another reason I think this would be a great gift is because my best friend has a profound interest in cooking. She loves trying out new recipes, and with her new smartphone, she can easily watch YouTube videos to learn new cooking techniques or discover new dishes to prepare for her family. On top of that, she can also store all her favorite recipes on her phone, so she can access them anytime. I’m sure this will inspire her to cook even more delicious meals!
I really think this gift will not only be useful for her but also make her more connected and inspired in her daily life.

IV. Part 3
1. Is the price of a gift important?
Main idea 1: The price of a gift is often considered significant by many people because it can reflect the thought and effort behind the gesture. If someone spends a considerable amount of money, it may show that they value the recipient. However, it doesn’t always guarantee that the gift will be well received.
Supporting idea: The emotional value of the gift should be the primary focus, rather than its monetary value. For instance, a handmade gift might not cost much but can be much more meaningful than an expensive item.
Example: I once gave a friend a personalized mug I made myself, which was inexpensive, yet she appreciated it more than any expensive item I could have bought her.
Main idea 2: While the price may play a role, the thoughtfulness and practicality of the gift often matter more. A well-thought-out gift that aligns with the recipient's needs or interests can be far more appreciated.
Supporting idea: For example, a book on a topic someone is passionate about may be more valuable to them than an expensive watch they may not use.
Example: When I gave my colleague a cooking book, which she had mentioned in passing, she was overjoyed despite the book's modest price.
New Vocabulary:
- Considered significant: Seen as important or worthy of attention (Được coi là quan trọng).
- Monetary value: The financial worth of something (Giá trị về mặt tài chính).
- Personalized: Something made specifically for a person, often with their name or interests (Tùy chỉnh cho cá nhân).
Phrasal verb:
- Give away: To donate or offer something to someone (Cho đi, tặng).
Example: I decided to give away some of my old clothes to charity.
2. What gifts are popular in your country?
Main idea 1: In my country, practical gifts like electronics and gadgets are highly popular due to their usefulness. People are often drawn to items that will enhance their daily lives.
Supporting idea: Smartphones, headphones, and smartwatches are common gifts, as they not only have high utility but also appeal to modern tastes.>> IELTS TUTOR có hướng dẫn kĩ SỬA BÀI IELTS WRITING TASK 2 ĐỀ THI THẬT NGÀY 22/8/2020 của HS IELTS TUTOR đạt 6.5 Writing
Example: For instance, on birthdays, it’s common for people to receive a new phone or a set of wireless earbuds as gifts.
Main idea 2: Traditional gifts, such as handmade items and local handicrafts, are also cherished. These gifts are meaningful because they represent the culture and personal connection between the giver and receiver.
Supporting idea: These can include things like intricately woven scarves or ceramic vases that showcase local artistry.
Example: For weddings, many people prefer to give finely crafted pottery as a symbol of good fortune and prosperity.
New Vocabulary:
- Electronics: Devices that use electrical components to function (Thiết bị điện tử).
- Gadgets: Small devices or tools with a specific function (Thiết bị, dụng cụ).
- Handmade items: Objects made by hand, rather than mass-produced (Sản phẩm thủ công).
Phrasal verb:
