IELTS TUTOR gợi ý bài tham khảo:

Today, I would like to tell you about a remarkable incident when I used my mobile phone to locate my father’s lost phone about a month ago.

It all started when my father returned home from the market, feeling quite disheartened (buồn bã, thất vọng) as he realized he had misplaced his phone while shopping for groceries. The situation was quite urgent, and I knew I had to act swiftly.

I immediately tried to call his number, but despite making numerous attempts (nhiều lần thử), there was no response. Fortunately, my mobile phone is equipped with some cutting-edge (tiên tiến, hiện đại) features that allow users to track other devices. I quickly accessed the tracking application, and within minutes, I pinpointed the exact location of his phone.>> Form đăng kí giải đề thi thật IELTS 4 kĩ năng kèm bài giải bộ đề 100 đề PART 2 IELTS SPEAKING quý đang thi (update hàng tuần) từ IELTS TUTOR

To further escalate the matter, I decided to spread the word (lan truyền thông tin) on my social media platforms, such as Instagram and Facebook, by posting about the lost phone. This step helped me gather some local attention and assistance.

Eventually, I received a call from a local mobile phone shop, where the shopkeeper informed me that a suspicious individual was attempting to sell a phone that matched my description. I wasted no time and rushed to the nearest police station, where I narrated the entire episode (kể lại toàn bộ sự việc). The police officer decided to accompany me to the shop.

At first, I was quite anxious (lo lắng, hồi hộp) about whether I would be able to recover the phone. However, when the police apprehended the thief and retrieved my father’s phone, I felt an immense sense of relief (cảm giác nhẹ nhõm lớn lao).

Finally, my father and I were both over the moon (rất vui sướng) to have his phone back. He even showered me with praise (khen ngợi tôi rất nhiều) and expressed how proud he was of the way I had handled the situation.

IV. Part 3

1. How often do you use your mobile phone?

I use my mobile phone quite frequently throughout the day, as it plays an indispensable role in my personal and professional life. Primarily, I rely on it to stay connected with colleagues and friends via messaging apps and emails. For example, I use WhatsApp to communicate with my teammates about project updates. Additionally, it serves as a tool for entertainment and relaxation, especially when I watch documentaries or listen to podcasts during my downtime. For instance, I recently watched a fascinating series about space exploration on Netflix. All in all, my phone has become an essential part of my daily routine, helping me stay productive and entertained.

New Vocabulary:

  • Indispensable: Absolutely necessary; something you cannot do without (Không thể thiếu).
  • Downtime: Time when you are not working or being productive, used to relax (Thời gian nghỉ ngơi).
  • All in all: An idiom meaning "in conclusion" or "overall" (Tóm lại).

2. Do young and old people use phones in the same way?

Young and older generations differ significantly in how they use mobile devices. For one thing, younger people often use smartphones for social media and gaming, as these activities are a staple of their daily lives. For instance, platforms like TikTok or Snapchat are particularly popular among teenagers. On the other hand, older individuals tend to use phones more practically, such as for making calls or managing appointments. For example, my grandmother mainly uses her phone to set reminders for her medication. This shows that while younger people prioritize leisure and communication, older individuals focus on functionality.

New Vocabulary:

  • Staple: An essential or principal part of something (Phần không thể thiếu).
  • Functionality: The practical use or purpose of something (Tính năng hữu ích).
  • For one thing: An idiom used to introduce a reason or explanation (Thứ nhất là).

3. Many people think mobile phones can be annoying at times. Can you give any examples of that?

Mobile phones can indeed be irritating in certain situations, especially in public spaces. To begin with, loud ringtones or conversations can disrupt the tranquility of places like libraries or cafés. For example, I was recently at a library, and someone’s phone kept ringing, which made it hard for others to concentrate. Furthermore, the overuse of phones during face-to-face conversations can come across as impolite or dismissive. For instance, when people constantly check their phones during dinner, it sends the message that they are uninterested in the company they are with. Such behaviors highlight how excessive phone use can be bothersome.>> IELTS TUTOR hướng dẫn PHÂN TÍCH ĐỀ THI 30/5/2020 IELTS WRITING TASK 2 (kèm bài sửa HS đạt 6.5)

New Vocabulary:

  • Disrupt the tranquility: To disturb the calm and peaceful atmosphere (Làm gián đoạn sự yên tĩnh).
  • Come across as: A phrasal verb meaning to seem or appear in a certain way (Tạo ấn tượng như là).
  • Excessive: More than necessary or acceptable (Quá mức).

4. What is your attitude to people who speak on the phone in public?

I find it somewhat inconsiderate when people speak loudly on the phone in public areas. For starters, it can disturb others who are trying to concentrate or enjoy some peace, such as on public transport or in restaurants. For instance, hearing someone talk about personal matters loudly on a bus can be very distracting. Moreover, it reflects a lack of respect for others’ privacy and comfort. For example, instead of answering calls loudly, people could move to a quiet corner to avoid inconveniencing others. Overall, I believe a little courtesy can go a long way in maintaining harmony in shared spaces.

New Vocabulary:

  • Inconsiderate: Thoughtless; not caring about how your actions affect others (Thiếu ý tứ).
  • Disturb: To interrupt or bother someone (Làm phiền).
  • Go a long way: An idiom meaning to be very helpful or effective (Hữu ích).
