IELTS TUTOR gợi ý bài tham khảo:

Today, I would like to tell you about how physical exercise has helped me concentrate better. I often get bogged down with work, and it seems like I cannot stay focused if I don’t take a short break to exercise. By "bogged down," I mean that I often feel overwhelmed or stuck due to a heavy workload. The phrase "focused" means being able to pay full attention to something, and it's a crucial aspect of concentration.

Thinking back, I didn’t exercise much during my teen years, which was the period when I did the worst in school, and I believe there is a correlation here. By "correlation," I mean a relationship or connection between two things, in this case, my lack of exercise and poor academic performance. When I was about 18 years old, I started incorporating this habit into my lifestyle, and to my surprise, my grades improved. A "habit" refers to a regular practice or routine that you do almost automatically.

Acute bouts of physical activity, such as a 20-minute walk or jog, enhance concentration for up to one hour afterwards. By "acute bouts," I mean short, intense periods of activity. Supporting this, physical activity and higher levels of physical fitness have been shown to benefit many parts of brain function, including concentration. "Physical activity" refers to any movement of the body that requires energy, and "physical fitness" means being in good health due to regular exercise.

Certain psychological mechanisms, such as feeling more alert and having a better mood after physical activity, improve concentration. By "alert," I mean feeling awake and aware. The increased blood flow to the brain during exercise and the changes in the parts of the brain that are activated have also been suggested to help. This is where the phrasal verb "kick in" comes in—when the benefits of exercise kick in, it means they begin to take effect. For example, after I exercise, I often find that I can focus better on my work, which lasts for an hour or so.>> Form đăng kí giải đề thi thật IELTS 4 kĩ năng kèm bài giải bộ đề 100 đề PART 2 IELTS SPEAKING quý đang thi (update hàng tuần) từ IELTS TUTOR

To wrap up, I can confidently say that regular physical activity is an essential part of my routine, and it keeps me on track when it comes to staying productive. IV. Part 3

1. What kinds of jobs require higher concentration at work?

Jobs that involve complex problem-solving or high-stakes decisions often require intense focus. For example, a surgeon must stay fully engaged during a lengthy operation, where even the smallest distraction could result in severe consequences. Another profession that demands heightened attention is that of an air traffic controller. This job involves monitoring multiple planes simultaneously, requiring them to make quick decisions that ensure the safety of passengers. Attention to detail is paramount in both of these fields, and professionals in such roles undergo rigorous training to maintain their focus over long periods.>> IELTS TUTOR có hướng dẫn kĩ PHÂN TÍCH ĐỀ THI THẬT TASK 2 (dạng advantages & disadvantages) NGÀY 04/8/2020 IELTS WRITING GENERAL MÁY TÍNH (kèm bài được sửa hs đi thi)

2. Can exercise help people improve concentration?

Yes, physical activity has been shown to significantly enhance concentration levels. Aerobic exercises, such as running or swimming, increase blood flow to the brain, which improves cognitive function and focus. For instance, studies have shown that people who engage in regular exercise have better memory retention and perform better in tasks requiring mental focus. Additionally, physical exercise helps reduce stress and anxiety, which are common distractions that can undermine one’s ability to concentrate.

New Vocabulary:

  • Intense focus (sự tập trung mạnh mẽ): Refers to a high level of concentration, where one is deeply engaged in a task, with no distractions.
  • Heightened attention (sự chú ý nâng cao): This refers to being extra vigilant and alert, often required in high-risk jobs.
  • Attention to detail (chú ý đến chi tiết): The ability to notice and correct small but important elements in a task.
  • Aerobic exercises (bài tập thể dục nhịp điệu): Exercises that improve the efficiency of the cardiovascular system, like running, swimming, or cycling.

Idioms/Phrasal Verbs:

  • "On the ball" (tinh ý, nhanh nhạy): Being mentally sharp and able to handle things quickly and effectively.
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ: Surgeons need to be really on the ball during surgery to avoid any mistakes.

  • "Burn out" (kiệt sức, mệt mỏi): To be mentally or physically exhausted, often from prolonged stress or overwork.
IELTS TUTOR xét ví dụ: Lack of exercise can make workers burn out and lose their ability to concentrate effectively.
