IELTS TUTOR gợi ý bài tham khảo:
Today, I would like to tell you about a regrettable (đáng tiếc - causing sorrow or disappointment) experience when I missed an important appointment with my tutor.
It was a pivotal (mang tính chấn động, quan trọng - crucially important) meeting as I had been working against the clock (chạy đua với thời gian - trying to finish something quickly before a deadline) to finalize my project. Since my workload was overwhelming (quá tải, đầy áp lực - very intense or difficult to manage), I had to burn the midnight oil (thức khuya làm việc/học - work late into the night) for days leading up to the appointment. By the time the day arrived, I was dead on my feet (mệt rả rợi, kiệt quệ - extremely tired), struggling to get up in the morning.
Unfortunately, my city is notorious for its bumper-to-bumper traffic (giao thông dày đặc, xe úc, xe \xfan tắc - very heavy traffic with little movement), and that day was no exception. Despite my best efforts to leave home as soon as possible, I was caught in a gridlock (tình trạng kẹt xe - a severe traffic jam) and ended up arriving an excruciating (cực kỳ, kinh khủng - extremely painful or embarrassing) one hour late.
When I finally reached the location, I was in a state of sheer panic (tình trạng hoàn toàn hoảng sợ - extreme fear and anxiety). The worst part was that I had to present my project while being mentally drained (kiệt quệ tinh thần - exhausted and unable to focus). I delivered my presentation half-heartedly (không nhiệt tình, làm chiếu làm lê - without full enthusiasm or energy), and I could tell that my tutor was less than impressed (không hềi lòng - not satisfied at all).
That experience was an eye-opener (bài học đắt giá - a moment of realization or learning) for me. Ever since that incident, I have made it a habit to set multiple alarms on my phone and plan my schedule meticulously to avoid any repercussions (hậu quả xấu - negative consequences). Now, I always ensure that I leave home well in advance to account for any unexpected delays, and I have never been late for an appointment again.**
