You should say:

• What the decision was
• When you took the decision
• What the results of the decision was
• And explain why you made that decision

  • One of the most important decisions I made was to study for the IELTS exam so that I could pursue higher education abroad.
• When you took the decision

• What the results of the decision was

  • Main idea 1: I wanted to pursue my academic and career goals and felt that studying abroad would provide me with the best opportunity to do so.
    • Supporting idea:

      • However, to achieve this goal, I needed to take the IELTS exam, which was mandatory for international students.
